Scenes from the slow route

Seeing the world one cramped window seat at a time.

Scenes from the slow route
Central Station, Heidelberg, Germany

Getting somewhere by train allows for a ground-level view that planes, with all their (occasional) efficiencies, can’t offer. Not necessarily a better way to go, just a different one.

Absolutely critical to figure out where the sun's going to be and then grab a seat on the other side, which can avoid hours of squinting or the absurdity of needing sunscreen. Can't see much with the shade pulled down, either.

Most of the shots probably won't be good at all; a blurred, dizzying mess. Every so often, though, you're lucky enough to grab a cool moment from an angle that's tough to replicate.
